I met Colin online, as all gay stories begin. I was upstate for a weekend away with my boyfriend in Hudson when I stumbled across his profile while casually browsing online during a minute of downtime. I recognized him from other photo shoots I've seen from other photographers and said "hello," thinking he'd be too busy to get back to me.
As a hot daddy, I imagine him very in demand.

Luckily, he said hello back and that he would be interested in having his photo taken. We had to schedule a few weeks in advance because Colin only visits the city a few days a week for work. I normally photograph on film but lately, I have been shooting digitally. Firstly, film has become prohibitively expensive but also keeping up with the demand for new work to post online is more difficult with film. It takes a lot of time to process so I have been working more with my digital camera.
Occasionally, at the end of each shoot I will set the camera to take many pictures in succession at a 3 second interval. The result is something like a short stop-motion animation.

For those of you more artistically inclined, you might know about Andy Warhol's short film "Blowjob." A silly little film that horny art academics like to refer to when trying to sound educated rather than simply what they are -- horny. Made in 1964, the film is a black-and-white, close up, continuous shot of a man's face while he, presumably, receives a blowjob for 35 minutes.

I hadn't intended to recreate this film when Colin came over that day but....
I had already set up my camera to photograph some close-ups with myself included in the shot. So the camera was already automatically shooting. When I brushed my hand against his nipple he got hard and the idea just popped into my head.

You know, it's funny, even as I tell this story now, I can't be sure if it was in pursuit of art--photographing Colin in the style of Andy Warhol's film--was the reason I sucked his dick. I think what's more true is that I just wanted to suck his dick because it was big and beautiful and who could blame me?

To get back to the concept of the photograph, earlier in February I've been creating these pastel backdrops to set the figures I'm working with on a stage. I want the images to feel sort of dream-like, like they're in a painting or something. I don't know the specific reason or purpose of these backdrops, I am, after all a photographer and not a set designer, I just think it looks nicer than something more happenstance, like a messy bed or regular furniture. To me, it's a bit more dramatic. I often photograph with mirrors in my work. I like that a mirror can be both a light reflector and a tool to mess with the staging of an image.

I've always tried to mess with the concept of the power dynamic in my photographs. I don't like the idea that the photographer holds all the power on a photo set. Or, if that is unavoidably true, I try to bring awareness too it. Either way, I always liked to show people I'm photographing pressing the shutter and I think these photographs are cute side by side.

Colin had the most sensitive nipples of anyone I've met in a long time. As I said, I hadn't intended to suck his dick when we met but I was intrigued at how quickly he got hard after my hand grazed his nipple so I kept doing it. When I saw what my nipple-graze had done, I did it again....and again. Until his cock was so hard I thought he might shoot a load just from that. After I had my Andy Warhol "Blowjob" shots I figured that was enough teasing and I played with Colin's nipples while he jerked off until he came all over the floor -- 10/10 experience.
See you next week !
